Texan by birth, whose physician father visualized and laid foundations here for the healing center in which he himself has played a vital role for more than a third of a century. Bred to medicine but schooled in the liberal arts and the law before dedicating himself to Aesculapius. A surgeon, a scientist, a teacher, he exemplifies the highest ideals of his profession. President-elect of the United States Chapter of the International College of Surgeons. To this and other distinguished professional honors that have come to him, this institution adds its tribute to him as a citizen, a leader of men, a humanitarian and a Christian gentleman.
